Paolini Carried the Olympic Flame: 'I Was Very Moved'
This Thursday in Athens, the handover of the Olympic flame took place between the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Italian delegation, led by Jasmine Paolini and Filippo Ganna, an Italian cyclist.
She received the flame from the hands of Giorgos Kougioumtsidis, a Greek wrestler, to pass it to Ganna.
Proud to have participated in this event, Paolini told Sky Sports: 'It was incredible, it's an honor and a privilege to be here. I was very moved, especially at the end, thinking back to where I am and what I have accomplished. I believe it's every athlete's dream, and I never imagined I would be here.'
