Paolini in the Wimbledon final after a crazy semi-final!

After the French Open final a month ago, Jasmine Paolini will also play in the Wimbledon final on Saturday. She has just qualified after a sumptuous semi-final against Donna Vekic.

The Italian won 10-8 in the super tie-break of the third set, on her third match point, after a fierce battle lasting almost three hours (2-6, 6-4, 7-6). On the other side of the net, the Croatian also played a fantastic match and deserved victory just as much. She missed her chance by failing to hold on to her break lead in the final set.

In the final, Paolini will face the winner of the match that will now pit Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, hot favourite for the title, against Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
