Paris/Betting - Garcia, Monfils, Yastremska-Bencic, our opinion and the interesting odds for Wednesday's matches in Miami

In partnership with Vbet.fr, TennisTemple offers an overview of potentially interesting odds for today's matches during the first round in Miami.

- Our opinion on Monfils - Marozsan -

In the men's draw, a very interesting duel is expected to be tight in Florida. After a strong start to the season, Gaël Monfils (1.47) faces Fabian Marozsan (2.53).

In head-to-head matchups, it's difficult to form a clear opinion, as the Hungarian won their only previous encounter in Auckland last year in a tight match decided by a third-set tiebreak.

However, at the start of this season, the momentum is on the Frenchman's side, having won in New Zealand early in the season and reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open after eliminating world number 4, Taylor Fritz.

On the other hand, Marozsan reached the third round in Melbourne, but his main achievement in 2025 remains a quarterfinal at the Hong Kong tournament, where he defeated Andrey Rublev before being eliminated by Shang Juncheng. This season, the current world number 59 has not managed to string together two wins in the same tournament since the Australian Open.

For this match, which should see both players put on a show on the American courts, we don't expect a straight-set victory for either. A tactical battle could unfold, and this match should see Monfils and Marozsan decide the outcome in a third and decisive set.

At 38 years old, the Frenchman has already shown that he can be relied upon physically this season. Betting on a French victory in three sets (3.12) seems the most judicious choice.

- Our opinion on Garcia - Bondar -

The last French player competing on the Florida courts, Caroline Garcia (1.45), faces Anna Bondar (2.52), in a match where Garcia enters as the favorite.

However, Garcia has a lot at stake in this tournament. A quarterfinalist here last year, she must defend her points to avoid dropping out of the WTA top 100, something that hasn't happened to her since June 2013.

Garcia is lacking confidence, having won only two of her seven matches this season. But the world number 74 knows she cannot afford any mistakes this year in Miami.

On the other side, Bondar comes through qualifying. The 27-year-old Hungarian had a tough time entering the main draw, narrowly defeating Inglis and Begu in three sets each.

Even though Garcia is still searching for her best form, logic should prevail. Here, we see a Garcia victory in two sets (1.88).

To add more spice to your bet, you can also decide to bet on the number of games in this match. In this scenario, a Garcia win with fewer than 21 games (1.90) could be worth considering.

- Our opinion on Yastremska - Bencic -

An interesting matchup in the women's draw in this first round of Miami. In great form since her return from pregnancy, Belinda Bencic (1.24) has already won a trophy this year in Abu Dhabi and is climbing the rankings week after week, gaining a lot of confidence. The Swiss will face Dayana Yastremska (3.56) in her opening match in Florida.

The two players know each other well, having faced off four times on the main tour. So far, Bencic leads three wins to one, but their last encounter dates back to the Hobart tournament in 2019 (Bencic won). At the Indian Wells tournament, the Swiss eliminated Coco Gauff and is already establishing herself as a threat in major tournaments.

This match will pit two players with similar profiles against each other, both looking to take control of the game and take risks. We expect a spectacular match, but the current momentum clearly favors Bencic, even though Yastremska came close to winning in Linz in recent weeks, only losing in the final to Alexandrova.

We recommend betting on a Swiss victory in three sets, which offers odds of 3.26. To continue in this vein, you can also bet on a total of games over 21 (1.84).
