Parry defeats Begu in Madrid first round
Diane Parry continues her strong form in Madrid. Coming through qualifying, the Frenchwoman won her first-round match against Irina-Camelia Begu with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
This victory temporarily and virtually moves her to 101st in the world, just outside the Top 100.
She will face world No. 29 Anna Kalinskaya in the second round, marking their first-ever meeting.
