Passionate Fans Should Be in the Front," Complains Leconte About Empty Boxes at Roland-Garros
The empty boxes at Roland-Garros are a recurring debate, particularly at the start of the tournament, where despite some attractive matchups, these seats at the bottom of the stadium remain largely unoccupied.
Henri Leconte, in comments cited by Tennis Actu, expressed his frustration about these empty boxes and suggested a possible solution.
He states: "Once again, for the first match, the boxes were empty. There was no one in the boxes; they were all eating, thinking about anything but tennis.
We often criticize women's tennis, but for once, we had a French player in the first match (Varvara Gracheva against Sofia Kenin). No one was there.
We need to modify these boxes, raise them, and put passionate fans at the bottom, those who are eager for it. We don't have this problem at Wimbledon, nor the Australian Open or the US Open.
It's only at Roland-Garros. So please, think about it, put passionate fans in the front.
