Paula Badosa Ends Her 2025 Season
After trying to tough it out, Paula Badosa has finally given in. The 27-year-old Spaniard, a former world No. 2, has officially ended her 2025 season due to a thigh injury sustained during the third round of the WTA 1000 in Beijing (against Muchova).
Her message posted on social media quickly moved her fans. With rare sincerity, the player shared a testimony full of pain, but above all, of admirable resilience:
"No matter the obstacles that stand in my way, I will continue to fight and I will always find the path to come back. See you in 2026."
This is not the first time Badosa has been forced to step away from the courts due to injuries. Already this season, the Spaniard has retired or withdrawn four times, notably because of a recurring back issue.
At the Beijing tournament, however, she had shown promising form, hinting at a return to her best. But in the third round, she was forced to retire, with tears in her eyes.
"My body can't keep up for now. But my heart has never been more determined... See you in 2026."
