Pavlovic Wins All-French Semi-Final Against Mannarino in Mexico
At the Mexico Challenger, two French players faced off for a spot in the final. Luka Pavlovic, ranked 296th in the world, took on Adrian Mannarino, who has dropped to 134th in the ATP rankings. In a tight match, Pavlovic ultimately came out on top, winning in straight sets (6-4, 7-6).
Despite an inconsistent serve (10 aces, 8 double faults), the 25-year-old was opportunistic on Mannarino’s serve, converting two of the four break points he earned. The former top-20 player, on the other hand, struggled with efficiency in this area (1/10).
Pavlovic advances to the final, where he will face Felipe Meligeni Alves for the title. The Brazilian, ranked 153rd, edged out Marc-Andrea Huesler in a thrilling semi-final (3-6, 6-3, 7-6 in 2h17).
The two have never met before. As for Mannarino, he will compete in San Luis Potosi, another Mexican tournament, next week, where he will face Max Wiskandt in his opening match.
