Pegula, Collins, and Kessler Withdraw from BJK Cup Opening Round with Team USA

The United States will travel to Bratislava this weekend to face Slovakia and Denmark in the opening round of the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup.

Led by captain Lindsay Davenport, the American team will have to compete without their star players, as three athletes withdrew just two days before the start of the competition.

World No. 3 Jessica Pegula, along with Danielle Collins and McCartney Kessler, will not make the trip.

Pegula, in strong form recently, comes off three intense weeks of competition, including a final in Miami and a title in Charleston.

They will be replaced by Alycia Parks, Bernarda Pera, and Hailey Baptiste. Earlier in the day, Clara Tauson, Denmark’s top-ranked player, also withdrew due to a back injury.
