Pegula Defeats Fellow American Navarro to Reach Semifinals in Bad Homburg

Pegula faced Navarro in the quarterfinals of Bad Homburg. The two players had met only once before on the tour, in 2024 (Pegula won in Miami).

After splitting the first two sets, Pegula managed to find the resources to take control in the third set and secure the match: 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Despite the lopsided score in the first two sets, both players created nearly the same number of break point opportunities throughout the match (11 for Pegula vs. 10 for Navarro), converting the same number (3 each).

As the tournament's top seed, Pegula will aim to reach another grass-court final after her triumph in Berlin last year. With this strong performance, the 31-year-old is optimistic about her chances at Wimbledon. After exiting in the second round of last year's edition of the British Grand Slam, she is determined to go further this time.

For a spot in the final, she will face the winner of the match between Andreeva and Noskova.
