Playing a sport I loved without risking injury," Nadal reflects on his passion for golf
In the NDL PRO-HEALTH podcast, Nadal touched on a number of topics related to physical activity and diet. When asked by the journalist about his passion for golf, the Spaniard explained where his interest in the sport came from:
"I love sports in general; my life has always been connected to sports. I got hooked on golf mainly during my career because it was a discipline that allowed me to do something I loved outside of tennis without risking injury. I used to love playing football and other sports, but the risk of injury was too high."
While the Majorcan expected to play golf very regularly after his tennis career, the reality of life ended up changing his plans:
"At first, I told myself: 'When my career is over, I’ll play golf four or five times a week.' But in the end, because of work and especially because I feel so good at home with my son, we end up staying in and playing together (laughs).
