"Who Between Alcaraz or Sinner Against the Best Nadal on Clay?" Tsitsipas Shares His Opinion
In an interview with Tennis365, Tsitsipas sided with former American champion McEnroe. According to him, Alcaraz has more weapons than his rival Sinner to trouble Nadal on clay:
"I've played against both (Alcaraz and Sinner). They are both excellent ball strikers, on clay as well as on hard courts, but as the more creative player, I would lean more toward Carlos. I feel like he has many more options when he plays. I would obviously favor Sinner on hard courts, but on clay, I would give Carlos more chances against Nadal.
If I had to bet my money somewhere, it would be on Alcaraz. I feel like he would have had a chance against the best Nadal on this surface. That’s what I think. I’m not saying he would have beaten him, but he could have created something special against him."
Alcaraz and Nadal have faced each other twice on clay (1-1). As for Sinner, he has played the Spaniard three times, all on clay (0-3).
