Alexei Popyrin has entered a new dimension in 2024.

He enjoyed a strong second half of the season, winning the first Masters 1000 of his career against Rublev in Canada in August.

He then beat Djokovic in the third round of the US Open to reach his highest ever ATP ranking (23rd). The Australian looks back on his last few months and those of his country in general.

The Oceania nation was a Davis Cup semi-finalist in November before losing out to eventual winners Italy.

"So far, 2024 has been the best season of my career. Australian tennis is on the right track. Jordan (Thompson) has had a fantastic year, both in singles and doubles.

Matthew (Ebden) and John (Peers) won gold medals, and Alex (De Minaur) consolidated his place in the top 10.

Max (Purcell) also performed well in doubles, and Olivia (Gadecki) made tremendous progress, breaking into the top 100 and reaching the final at the WTA 500 in Guadalajara.

It's incredible for our tennis. It's been a memorable year for everyone, and we're all hoping to win titles, of course," he elaborated for Tennis Australia.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
