Raducanu defends Swiatek: "Anything we take can easily be contaminated".
A few days ago, the tennis world learned of Iga Swiatek's positive test for trimetazidine.
The Pole, world number 2, has accepted a one-month suspension and will be able to return to the Australian Open. She has already resumed training in preparation for the start of next season.
Reactions have been pouring in since the case was made public.
One of the most recent was Emma Raducanu, who spoke out about Swiatek's positive test. The Briton, winner of the US Open, defended the Pole.
"I think in general, not just me, but a lot of players I know, we're very scared. Anything we take can easily be contaminated.
And there are supplements I might like to take, but I can't, because they're over-the-counter and not batch-tested.
I'm very careful about what I drink and eat. But that's part of the sport. We're all in the same boat", she concluded for The Telegraph.
