Raducanu reacts after her defeat in Madrid: "It's clear I'm not necessarily feeling comfortable"
Raducanu fell to Kostyuk with a score of 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 at the WTA 1000 in Madrid. After a win against Lamens (7-6, 6-4) for the first time since 2022, the British player exited the Spanish tournament in the second round.
Following the match, the 22-year-old spoke in an interview with Tennis 365:
"I found my movement really difficult. I felt like I was sliding, but it took me a long time to recover after serving and returning. I’m not entirely sure how to improve, so I think I’ll take this into account and try to work on it next week.
I think it’s positive to have played two matches on outdoor clay. I’d say it’s clear I’m not necessarily feeling very comfortable, but I think it’s something I can improve and work on.
This is my second season on clay and the first in three years. So I’m trying to give myself a chance to play as many points as possible on this surface. I also need time to train on the court."
