Rankings - Sinner to finish year as world number 1
No real surprise there.
After a colossal season, Jannik Sinner has just secured a major achievement in the life of a tennis player.
Whatever happens next, he'll finish the year as world number 1.
When asked about it, Sinner was happy, and took it in his stride: "It's incredible. Being number 1 is something you dream about as a child.
To finish the year in first place is a different and special feeling. But it happened during the tournament. So I don't even think about it.
I know that tomorrow (Sunday) will be an important day, the final. But it means a lot to me.
It's something I couldn't achieve without the fans, my family and friends.
It's a credit to my team."
