Record attendance expected this Saturday for UTS Tour at Nîmes Arena
This weekend, eight ATP headliners are in Nîmes to compete in the second leg of the 2025 UTS Tour following Guadalajara. While the quarterfinals took place yesterday, the UTS is expected to set a new attendance record this Saturday for the remainder and conclusion of the competition in Gard.
Indeed, according to information gathered by the UTS official website, 8,000 spectators were present in the Arena on Friday, April 4, to watch the quarterfinals—a record since the UTS Tour’s inception in 2020. Unfortunately for the fans, they saw Gaël Monfils and Ugo Humbert fall to Tomáš Macháč and Alex de Minaur.
On Saturday, both players will return to the court for the ranking matches, and the newly set single-day attendance record is expected to be broken again in the coming hours.
According to the same source, no fewer than 12,500 people are expected to attend the conclusion of UTS Nîmes on the French clay courts.
As a reminder, the semifinals will feature Tomáš Macháč against Alex de Minaur and Casper Ruud against Andrey Rublev. In February, in Guadalajara, 25,000 people attended the event in total, setting a record for a single UTS tournament.
However, it’s worth noting that the Mexican event spanned three days, compared to just two for this tournament held in Nîmes in early April.
