Returning from injury, Alcaraz makes a strong debut in Rome
Facing Lajovic, Alcaraz secured a comfortable win in his opening match at the Rome Masters 1000 (6-3, 6-3). The Spaniard, who had been sidelined with an adductor injury after withdrawing from Madrid, marked his comeback with this performance.
The El Palmar native fired 20 winners throughout the match, winning 70% of his points on first serve and creating ten break point opportunities, converting four of them.
Frequently absent from competition, Alcaraz was playing only his third match in the Italian capital, securing his spot in the third round here.
With ten wins in his last 11 matches, he will next face the winner of the clash between Djere and Michelsen.
