Rinderknech Qualifies for His First Masters 1000 Quarterfinal by Defeating Lehecka
Jiri Lehecka and Arthur Rinderknech faced off for a spot in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters 1000.
The Frenchman managed to gain the upper hand over his opponent in the first set by converting his only break point during the 8th game. He won the first set with a score of 6-3.
Rinderknech started the second set at the same pace, earning two break points, which he failed to convert. However, the Frenchman was untouchable on his serve during this set, losing only a single point.
The two players headed into a tie-break, which Rinderknech won with a score of 7 points to 5.
He qualifies for the first Masters 1000 quarterfinal of his career and secures his second Top 20 win at this Shanghai tournament.
He will face Felix Auger Aliassime or Lorenzo Musetti in the next round.
