Rinderknech Suffers from Illness and Forced to Retire in Cincinnati

The stifling heat in Cincinnati took its toll on Arthur Rinderknech this Monday.
The Frenchman, trailing 7-6, 2-2 against Félix Auger-Aliassime, collapsed to the ground just as the Canadian was preparing to serve (see video below).
After receiving a medical timeout, Rinderknech attempted to continue the match, but two games later, he chose to retire (7-6, 4-2).
Two days earlier, after his victory against Casper Ruud, the French player had mentioned the challenging playing conditions at the tournament due to the heat and humidity: "It's survival. Playing sports like this, in scorching heat, isn’t very good for the body or the mind."
Advancing to the round of 16 due to this retirement, Auger-Aliassime will face either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Benjamin Bonzi.
