Robson on Murray: "Training Djokovic is quite a complex task".
Retired since 2022 and now a consultant for Eurosport, Laura Robson spoke about the upcoming partnership between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
As a reminder, the Scot will coach the Serb at least until the Australian Open.
The Briton, who won mixed doubles silver alongside Murray at the 2012 London Olympics, gave her views on the collaboration between the two former world No. 1s.
"At this stage, I can't think of anyone else who could have coached Novak. It's quite a complex task, because you have to have all the necessary qualities and experience.
You also need to know how Djokovic feels in certain situations. There are very few people on this planet who can identify with him the way Andy can.
I don't think Novak will blame him too much. They've competed against each other so many times and respect each other so much that they'll have much more positive emotions in the locker room.
But at the same time, I find it hard to imagine Andy standing up and shaking his fist as coaches usually do at key moments.
It's exciting. I can't wait to see how it goes," said the 30-year-old.
