Roddick on Sinner: "On clay, he won't be able to push players off the court as easily"
Andy Roddick discussed Jannik Sinner, who is set to make his return to competition at the Rome Masters 1000. He talked about Sinner's chances on clay, where two major tournaments await him: Rome and Roland Garros.
He stated: "I don’t think clay is his best surface. When he has both feet on hard courts, that’s where he’ll dominate, but at the same time, he could have won Roland Garros last year.
He came surprisingly close to winning that tournament. On clay, he won’t be able to push players off the court as easily as on other surfaces, and he won’t get as many good opportunities on serve.
He has greatly improved his serve-forehand combo on hard courts, but he’ll have to do something different on clay."
