Roger-Vasselin, Defending Mixed Doubles Champion at Roland-Garros, Undergoes Elbow Surgery Just Days Before Tournament

At 41, Édouard Roger-Vasselin remains a formidable doubles player. Last year, the Frenchman—a former world No. 35 in singles—won the mixed doubles title at Roland-Garros alongside Germany’s Laura Siegemund. This year, he hopes to replicate that success, though physical setbacks have emerged at the worst possible time.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Roger-Vasselin shared an update, confirming he underwent elbow surgery. He aims to recover in time for Roland-Garros, where he is expected to compete in both the men’s doubles and mixed doubles events.
"After hitting millions of balls, my elbow needed a little refresh. The surgery went very well, and rehab starts today. See you in three weeks at Roland-Garros," Roger-Vasselin wrote on social media.
