Roland-Garros 2025: Defending Champions Roger-Vasselin/Siegemund Defeated in Quarterfinals

The dream of a mixed doubles title defense for Edouard Roger-Vasselin ended this Tuesday at Roland-Garros. Partnered with Laura Siegemund, with whom the Frenchman had won the title on the Parisian clay last year, Roger-Vasselin—who underwent right elbow surgery just days before the tournament—could not overcome the fourth-seeded pair of Taylor Townsend and Evan King.
The Americans secured victory in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) and advanced to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the match between Lyudmyla Kichenok/Mate Pavic and Desirae Krawczyk/Neal Skupski.
As for the 41-year-old Frenchman, he remains in contention in the men’s doubles draw and will play his quarterfinal match with Hugo Nys against the duo Sander Arends/Luke Johnson this Wednesday.
