Roland-Garros 2025 Draw: Sinner with Zverev, Djokovic and Draper, Alcaraz to face Nishikori, Gasquet to play an all-French match

As the qualifications are about to conclude in the coming hours, the men's singles draw for the 2025 edition of Roland-Garros has just been made. The main contenders, as well as the French players, now know what to expect on the Parisian clay court.
Top seed and reigning semifinalist Jannik Sinner will start against Arthur Rinderknech and could meet Richard Gasquet as early as the second round. For the last tournament of his career, the player from Béziers will open Roland-Garros against his compatriot Terence Atmane.
The Italian is in the same section of the draw as Jack Draper (whom he could face in the quarterfinals and Alexander Zverev or Novak Djokovic for a potential semifinal).
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, the main favorite for his own succession in Paris, will face Kei Nishikori in his opening match for a great showdown. Defeated in the final last year, Alexander Zverev, lacking confidence, will hope to turn things around against Learner Tien, whom the American defeated in Acapulco earlier this year.
Novak Djokovic, who is celebrating his 38th birthday this Thursday, will start his quest for a 25th Grand Slam against Mackenzie McDonald, and could face Corentin Moutet in the second round if the Frenchman prevails against a qualifier.
As for the French players, Arthur Fils will play against Nicolas Jarry, and Ugo Humbert will have to face Christopher O’Connell. The third French player from the qualifiers, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, will challenge Zizou Bergs.
Also noteworthy are numerous great matches right from the first round: Fearnley-Wawrinka, Medvedev-Norrie, Fritz-Altmaier, De Minaur-Djere, Rune-Bautista Agut, Shelton-Sonego, Tsitsipas-Etcheverry, Hurkacz-Fonseca, Muller-Mensik, Lehecka-Thompson, Machac-Halys, and Auger-Aliassime-Arnaldi.
