Roland-Garros 2025: Errani/Paolini Crush Andreeva/Shnaider to Reach Women's Doubles Final

The lineup for the women's doubles final at Roland-Garros is now set. The all-Italian second-seeded pair of Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini will face the duo of Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic.
In a rematch of the Paris Olympics gold medal clash, Errani and Paolini made quick work of Russian players Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider this time, sweeping them aside 6-0, 6-1 in just one hour of play.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's Danilina and Serbia's Krunic, the surprise finalists, overcame Ulrikke Eikeri (Norway) and Eri Hozumi (Japan) in a tightly contested match (6-7, 6-3, 7-5 in 2 hours and 46 minutes).
Paolini and Errani, who were finalists last year at the French Open, fell short against Katerina Siniakova and Coco Gauff. Now, they have the chance to claim their first Grand Slam title together.
Errani previously won the event in 2012 alongside Roberta Vinci. Having also reached the finals in 2013, 2014 (and now 2024), she will compete in her fifth women's doubles final in the French capital.
She has the opportunity to secure a double victory, having already claimed the mixed doubles title this Thursday with Andrea Vavassori. Regardless, the two Italian players will enter the final as heavy favorites against Danilina and Krunic.
However, they should not underestimate their opponents, who have had a flawless tournament and notably eliminated top seeds Siniakova and Townsend in the quarterfinals.
