Rublev Confirms His Participation in Doubles at the US Open and Announces His Partner
Defeated by Arthur Fils (6-2, 6-3) in the round of 16 at the Monte-Carlo tournament, Rublev left the Principality with deep regrets. Frustrated, the Russian even withdrew from the doubles event.
After three consecutive early exits in his first matches in Dubai, Indian Wells, and Miami, the world No. 7 was determined to start the clay season strong, especially now that he is being coached by Marat Safin.
Additionally, the 27-year-old player announced his upcoming schedule, including his participation in mixed doubles at the US Open. Indeed, the United States Tennis Association has adjusted the doubles event schedule, with some matches starting during the singles qualifying week.
The tournament will feature 16 teams, with 8 determined by ranking and the rest through wild cards. This decision is expected to boost participation from top players, as reported by Tennis World Italia.
The Russian will compete in mixed doubles alongside Czech player Karolina Muchova.
