Rublev takes stock: "I hope all my bad seasons end like this".
Andrey Rublev had a rather strange year in 2024. At times, his tennis was breathtaking, but at other times, his counter-performances were mind-boggling.
Despite finishing the year at 8ᵉ place in the world, the Russian was kind enough to look back on this strange 2024 financial year. Acknowledging that he didn't offer his best tennis, Rublev nonetheless preferred to be positive: "If we're talking about tennis, it's obvious that this season was marked by ups and downs, and that it may not look great, but at the end of the day, I finished in the top eight, which is extraordinary.
I hope all my bad seasons end up like that, because there are a lot of players who have had extraordinary seasons and finished 12 or 15 in the world, and I'll say it again, they've had extraordinary seasons."
