Rune crushed by Struff in Munich semi-final!
It was expected to be a hard-fought battle, but it was not to be. Jan-Lenard Struff gave title-holder Holger Rune a tennis lesson in the semi-finals of the 2024 BMW Open in Munich. In the damp Bavarian cold (6°C / 43°F), there was suspense only until 2-2 in the first set. The German then went on to win 10 consecutive games to claim victory in just 45 minutes (6-2, 6-0).
In Sunday's final, Struff will face Taylor Fritz, who defeated Cristian Garin earlier (6-3, 6-4).
