Rune gets off to a good start in Paris
Holger Rune qualified for the 2nd round of the French Open by defeating Daniel Evans in 2 hours, 35 minutes and three sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-4). Despite a slight scare in the 3rd set, when he fell behind by a break, the Dane mastered his match on the Court Suzanne Lenglen.
Last year's quarter-finalist, Rune thus saves precious energy with a view to achieving at least the same feat as in 2023. The next step for him is to face Flavio Cobolli on Thursday, who is probably already a tougher opponent.
