Rune: "I don't feel any pressure when I play".

Holger Rune is in Copenhagen to defend Denmark's Davis Cup colors against Serbia.
On this occasion, he takes stock of his young career: "The last few years have been difficult, but beneficial in many ways.
It all happened very quickly for me with that victory in Paris, which was beautiful but also stressful at many points, especially when I started playing badly at the end of 2023.
Now I'm back on track. I'm not focusing on what happened in the past, but on what's happening now and in the future.
That's what I can control.
On the one hand, there was a lot of pressure after winning a big tournament and beating Djokovic in the final, but on the other hand, you can look at it differently and say that it's incredible that people believe in my tennis and have high expectations of what I can do.
I prefer to think that people have faith in me and that I accept the challenge. This is my dream, and we're living it together.
I don't feel any pressure when I play. I don't feel I have to win any particular match because of the expectations placed on me.
I'm very competitive and you have to learn that when you're young, you don't know everything.
You have to know how to react after every good moment and train even harder after these victories.
I've always believed in myself, but over the last year and a half, I haven't worked as hard as I should have.
Now I'm doing it and I hope the rewards will come.
Without the tennis, physical and mental aspects I'm working on, I won't break through.
Anyone can say they want to win a Grand Slam, but you have to work for it and that's what I'm doing."
