Ruud on Anti-Doping Management: "I Always Bring My Medication from Norway"
The Sinner and Swiatek cases have prompted players to take extra precautions regarding anti-doping controls. On the subject, Casper Ruud shared his thoughts in an interview reported by Tennis World Italia. He discussed all the things professional tennis players must consider:
"You have to be very careful about what you take because sometimes, during a tournament, you can get sick. Personally, I always bring my medication from Norway and never buy anything from local stores, as there’s a big risk. You don’t know what’s inside, and something could be contaminated.
There are many factors to consider, and I’ve always been very cautious about this. However, there comes a point where you don’t even know if you should go out to eat, in case the chef puts something in your food or drink.
These are things that can’t be controlled. The Sinner and Swiatek cases were very unfortunate for both of them."
Currently in Madrid, the 26-year-old player has advanced to the round of 16, where he will face Fritz.
