Rybakina adds a new coach to her team
Elena Rybakina has had an eventful start to 2025, seeing her former coach Stefano Vukov provisionally suspended by the WTA, before ending her collaboration with Goran Ivanisevic after just a few weeks.
Present at the Abu Dhabi tournament, where she is seeded n°1, the Kazakh announced that she had hired Davide Sanguinetti (ex-42nd in the world) as a new coach in her team.
A choice explained by journalist Reemi Abulleil, who was able to meet Rybakina on site: "While Vukov is not allowed to join Rybakina at tournaments, Rybakina claims that they communicate and that he and Sanguinetti are always in touch.
They spent time together at a recent training session in Dubai after the Australian Open."
It remains to be seen whether this new association will bear fruit for the world's 5th-ranked player.
