The draw for the WTA 500 Abu Dhabi was made on Saturday.

Elena Rybakina, seeded n°1, has been given a bye and will play a qualifier in her first match.

No.2 seed Paula Badosa will face either Magdalena Frech or Linda Noskova in her opening match.

There are a number of interesting matches to follow in the first round, including a clash between Jelena Ostapenko, who struggled during the Australian tour, and Ons Jabeur, who made an interesting return to competition by reaching the quarter-finals in Brisbane and the 3rd round in Melbourne.

Marketa Vondrousova, absent since the Adelaide tournament due to injury, will have her work cut out against Emma Raducanu, recently beaten in the 1st round in Singapore.

Finally, Caroline Garcia kicks off her tournament against Lulu Sun, ranked 45th in the world.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.

This week I have used all my formulas and best guesses to try to achieve the high score jimandlori958 set in our last competition. I am two games short because of cancelations and I need all wins to get there.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Grenier and Hsu at the Kobe tournament? The match was played to completion and on time.

Grenier def Ysu 6-2 , 6-2 at Kobe today and the TT canceled the match.
