Rybakina Dominates Ostapenko and Will Face Swiatek in the Round of 16

Facing the world No. 21 Ostapenko, Rybakina defeated her opponent in 1 hour and 14 minutes with a score of 6-2, 6-2. The Kazakh player (No. 11) came into Roland-Garros with confidence following her recent performances on clay. After winning in Strasbourg, she has secured eight victories on clay this season, including six in a row.

Throughout the match, the 25-year-old completely neutralized the Latvian's game, creating 14 break points and converting five. Before this encounter, Rybakina led their head-to-head 3-2, with their most recent meeting won in Cincinnati in 2023.

In the next round, she will face the four-time tournament champion, Swiatek. The two players are tied in their previous meetings (4-4), but the last two have gone in favor of the Polish player, first at the United Cup and then in Doha this year.
