Rybakina overcomes Linette to reach the semifinals in Strasbourg

On this day of the draw at Roland-Garros, the other tournaments of the week continue elsewhere. This is the case for the WTA 500 tournament in Strasbourg, where the quarterfinals take place this Thursday.
The first two players to appear on the court are Magda Linette and Elena Rybakina. The two women had not faced each other since the Ostrava tournament in 2021, and the Kazakh had won in three sets.
In this match, Rybakina, who dropped to 12th in the WTA rankings, was effective with her serve (6 aces, 100% of break points saved) and despite many tight games, the 2022 Wimbledon winner managed with just one break per set to make the difference (7-5, 6-3) against a tenacious opponent ranked 33rd in the world.
Runner-up in the Alsatian tournament in 2020 (where she lost to Elina Svitolina), Rybakina once again reaches the final four, where she will face the winner of the match between Emma Navarro and Beatriz Haddad Maia, which follows immediately.
"I feel good on the court. There are always certain things I need to improve, but I feel physically and mentally, it's getting better and better. I'm happy to be playing tournaments.
I hope to play more matches here and be ready for Roland-Garros," said Rybakina, 25, on the court moments after her victory against the Polish player, for WTA media.
