Elena Rybakina is on the hunt for points at the end of this season. The Kazakh player is in the running for the WTA Finals alongside Mirra Andreeva. Her final this Sunday in Ningbo against Ekaterina Alexandrova was therefore of great importance.
But it was a rough start for Rybakina, broken right away. Despite two break-back opportunities, it was the Russian who took the first set with a score of 6-3.
However, the Kazakh player then showed a completely different side. She won 12 of the next 14 games thanks to strong serving and better returns.
Rybakina wins 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 and claims her 10th career title in Ningbo. Registered to play in Tokyo next week, she will need two wins to qualify for the WTA Finals, as Andreeva has decided not to play.
