Rybakina's Path to Qualifying for the WTA Finals
Elena Rybakina and Mirra Andreeva are neck and neck for the 8th spot in the Race, which means qualification for the WTA Finals.
While the Russian has decided not to play this week, the Kazakh is competing in Tokyo. If she wants to qualify, she needs two wins. She will face Leylah Fernandez in the first round, then Victoria Mboko or Eva Lys next.
But Rybakina has reasons to be cautious since three of these four players have beaten her in the last three months: Fernandez in Washington, Mboko in Montreal, and Lys in Beijing.
