Sabalenka after her victory against Zheng: "The balls became very heavy, which caused problems with the serve"
Aryna Sabalenka defeated Qinwen Zheng in Miami with a score of 6-2, 7-5. She advances to her 18th WTA 1000 semifinal, but her first in Miami.
When asked about her feelings after the match, the Belarusian opened up: "I’m very satisfied with the level I played at in the first set.
In the second set, I think we both struggled to adjust to the balls, maybe because it was a late match.
The balls became very heavy and big, which explains our serving difficulties (7 breaks in 12 games played).
Playing against Zheng is always tough. It’s not like I was 100% sure I would win. That’s not how sports work.
I’m competing and giving my best tennis and my best mindset."
In the next round, Sabalenka will face Jasmine Paolini.
