Sabalenka Battles but Prevails Against Kenin in Rome

Aryna Sabalenka was on the Roman courts this Sunday for a place in the round of 16. Facing Sofia Kenin, the Belarusian did not have an easy match.
After losing the first set 6-3, she had to regroup and raise her level of play. And the Belarusian managed to do so by quickly gaining the upper hand in the second set, which she won 6-3.
Sabalenka then followed up with an early break in the third set, at the end of her 7th break point in the same game. Despite an immediate break back by Kenin, she ultimately won 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
This is the second time in Sabalenka's career that she has secured more than 20 break points in the same match (23), after her 22 break points against Samantha Stosur in the Fed Cup in 2019.
She will face Marta Kostyuk in the round of 16, whom she defeated in Madrid a few days ago.
