Sabalenka strolls through and joins Gauff in the semi-finals
There were no surprises in Wuhan on Friday.
At least, not yet.
After Coco Gauff's logical qualification, this time it was Aryna Sabalenka who held her own perfectly.
In fine form for several weeks, the world number 2 made short work of poor Magdalena Frech (6-2, 6-2).
Despite being pushed around in return, Sabalenka dominated proceedings from start to finish.
Without really innovating, the Belarussian relied on the usual basics of her tennis.
Well into her game, she once again hit the ball with unprecedented violence, completely suffocating a Polish player without a solution.
Very solid, she joins Coco Gauff in the semi-finals.
A match that already has the air of a final before its time!
