Sabalenka withdraws from Montreal tournament

Expected to start the American hardcourt tour in Montreal, Aryna Sabalenka has ultimately decided to skip the tournament.

After reaching the finals in seven of the twelve tournaments she has played this season, the world No. 1 will not travel to Canada due to fatigue.

She will instead resume competition in Cincinnati, where she is the defending champion, before turning her focus to the US Open, where she will also defend her title.

The organizers also announced the withdrawal of Paula Badosa due to a psoas injury. These two withdrawals allow Caty McNally and Moyuka Uchijima to enter the main draw.
