"She can do some damage at the US Open," Navratilova's unexpected statement about Boisson
Loïs Boisson will experience the US Open in a few days, marking her second Grand Slam participation of her career.
A clay court specialist, the French player did not have an ideal preparation on the American hard courts, having to withdraw from the Montreal and Cincinnati tournaments due to discomfort in her left adductor. And in Cleveland, she lost in the first round to Jil Teichmann.
Despite this lack of familiarity with the surface, legend Martina Navratilova insists that Boisson could be, as at Roland-Garros, one of the surprises of the women's draw:
"Loïs Boisson played fantastic tennis on clay at Roland-Garros. She really surprised me, and I think she can do some damage at the US Open. Her game should adapt very well to the hard courts."
The French No. 1 will play her first round against Viktorija Golubic, world No. 77.
