As the High Performance Director of the French Tennis Federation, Ivan Ljubicic, the former Croatian professional tennis player, praised Loïs Boisson's performance at Roland Garros.

The 22-year-old Frenchwoman, who received a wild card and has made a remarkable comeback from an ACL injury a year ago, made the most of her opportunity. She defeated Mertens, Kalinina, and Jacquemot—and notably took down Pegula and Andreeva, two top-10 players—to reach the semifinals.

At this stage, world No. 2 Coco Gauff ended her impressive run with a straight-sets victory (6-1, 6-2). Ranked outside the top 360 before the tournament, Boisson is set for a massive leap into the top 70 after her breakthrough. Speaking to *L'Équipe*, the 46-year-old Ljubicic reflected on Boisson's tournament, where she emerged as the biggest revelation of the fortnight.

"This proves that with hard work, results can come quickly. She’s entering the top 70—which, to be honest, isn’t an incredible ranking. But she deserves to climb even higher; she’s 30th in the Race. I already thought last year that she was capable of achieving something very positive.

For me, this isn’t an unbelievable surprise. I hope other girls see that it’s possible. Loïs is 100% committed to the process. People always say ‘mentality, mentality, mentality.’ But confidence comes from training, from putting in the physical work.

When you feel strong, your mind works much better. Loïs played with a lot of focus. She was in her own bubble, managing her emotions. I really liked that," said the former world No. 3.

Ljubicic was then asked about Boisson’s ability to perform well on grass.

"If you look at her technique and how she uses topspin, she can’t do that on grass. She can try, but it’s more complicated. She’ll have to adapt, but I think she’s capable.

With her serve, she’ll win a lot of points. She’ll need to use her slice effectively," Ljubicic concluded in his recent comments for the French media.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
