"She doesn't play to produce beautiful tennis, but to win," Wilander on Gauff's chances at Wimbledon

Fresh off her triumph at Roland-Garros, Coco Gauff now sets her sights on Wimbledon. The world No. 2 hopes to advance beyond the round of 16 for the first time in her career in London, but she hasn’t been dealt an ideal draw. Indeed, right from the first round, the American will have to navigate the trap set by Dayana Yastremska, ranked 42nd in the world.
While Gauff has never lost to the Ukrainian in their three previous meetings, she’ll need to raise her level from the start of the tournament to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Meanwhile, Mats Wilander has shared his thoughts on the 21-year-old’s grass-court game.
"I think Gauff is definitely one of the two big favorites to win Wimbledon. Her serve, which is the weak point of her game, will keep improving because her confidence is going to start growing.
I think confidence is a key factor for Gauff at Wimbledon. She can move like she’s on ice and will be a great player on grass. I don’t think she’ll have any problems with that.
Her forehand will also keep getting better because she’ll realize how important it is to use it effectively to win. She doesn’t play to produce beautiful tennis, but to win," he concluded in his interview with Championat.
