"She's Already Behind Serena" – Rennae Stubbs' Scathing Analysis of Coco Gauff
Coco Gauff Faces Stubbs' Verdict
At 21 years old, Coco Gauff is already among the biggest forces on the circuit: world number 3, winner of two Grand Slam titles, and triple WTA 1000 champion.
But for Rennae Stubbs, a former player turned highly influential analyst, all of that is not enough.
"A Still Disappointing Record"
Indeed, in her podcast, Stubbs reminds that "Serena had already piled up major titles at 18, 19, or 20 years old."
"Frankly, at your age, you have achieved two incredible performances. But if you want to reach twenty, you need to win two per year for ten years or a lot in a short time, depending on the length of your career. So it's a bit disappointing, because she wanted to string titles together."
A mathematical observation, which suggests that Gauff has already fallen behind in the race to the pantheon of women's tennis. Because, to recall, one of Gauff's acknowledged goals is to equal, or even surpass, Serena Williams (23 Majors).
2026: Her Year?
Now, the American champion is recharging her batteries away from the courts to come back stronger.
And her schedule is already set: United Cup (January 2–11) and Australian Open (January 18 – February 1).
