"She's an incredible athlete," Querrey praises Boisson after her upset win over Pegula

Loïs Boisson is the big revelation of this Roland-Garros and also the surprise guest in the quarterfinals. Invited by the organizers, the 22-year-old French player defied expectations to reach the Final 8, with victories over Mertens, Kalinina, Jacquemot, and most notably world No. 3 Pegula in the round of 16.
Trailing by a set, the Dijon native dug deep to turn the match around on Philippe-Chatrier and will now face Mirra Andreeva for a spot in the semifinals.
On the *Nothing Major Podcast*, Sam Querrey reflected on Boisson’s match against the American on Monday afternoon and didn’t hesitate to praise the Frenchwoman’s performance.
"The end of Pegula’s match the other day was stressful—it’s understandable that things got complicated for her. But we also have to talk about Boisson. A year ago, she suffered a serious knee injury, and today, she’s one of the best movers on tour.
Did you see her movement on the court? It’s truly exceptional. She’s a mix between Sam Stosur and Maria Sakkari. She’s strong, with huge leg muscles. She’s an incredible athlete. She has a good serve, a really strong forehand.
Her backhand still needs work, but she used her forehand well, which bothered Jessica (Pegula), who had to deal with a lot of high balls. Since Pegula often plays flat, it became difficult for her.
The last fifteen minutes of that match were really tense—everyone was watching. It’s tough for Pegula to digest, but credit goes to Boisson. She’s genuinely a very good tennis player," Querrey explained.
