Shnaider explains her split with Safina: "It was her decision"

While Diana Shnaider had only just brought Dinara Safina onto her team in early April, their collaboration has already ended. Speaking to the Russian outlet Championat, the Russian player explained the separation.
"Everything happened spontaneously. Right after the match in Madrid against Iga Swiatek, Dinara told me she wouldn’t be coming with me to Rome. It was her decision alone.
Once in Rome, I texted her to find out what the conditions would be moving forward, how we would continue working, but she replied that she no longer saw any possibility of cooperation.
What can I do? It happened this way; it was Dinara’s decision, and I respect and accept it. I’ll prepare for the next tournament and look for new opportunities.
I don’t know what Dinara plans to do next—whether she’ll work with someone else or stop coaching altogether—but I wish her the best in whatever she does."
According to some Russian media, the reason for the split was the player’s parents. She addressed the rumor: "There will always be people who talk badly, even if it’s wrong.
I don’t know where people get the idea that my parents take all my money, that I’m broke, or that I can’t afford a coach.
Even when I was a minor, no one took my money. You don’t even know how much I have in my account."
