Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov faced off in the second round of the Paris Masters 1000. During this match, the Russian had a run-in with the French crowd.

The cause was him throwing his racket, which earned him boos. This was followed by a discussion with the chair umpire and words directed at the crowd: "I can't play when they boo. They are stupid.

If they don't boo, I play. Hey, if you don't boo, I play guys, but you shut your mouths, okay! I don't play like that. I didn't do anything for them to boo me."

These remarks naturally earned him a warning from the chair umpire. After his defeat in the third-set tie-break, Medvedev left, making a rude finger gesture at the crowd.

When asked about this gesture, he ironically dodged the question: "No, I didn't do it. I was just looking at my nails. Nothing more. Why would I do that to this magnificent Paris-Bercy crowd?
