Sinner awaits Fritz or Tiafoe in US Open final!

Sinner awaits Fritz or Tiafoe in US Open final!

So there will be no surprises.

Faced with a Jack Draper who was suffering physically but heroic in battle, Jannik Sinner won in just over 3 hours and 3 sets (7-5, 7-6, 6-2). The Italian may not have played his best tennis, but he did what was essential to secure his ticket for Sunday's final.

Without really impressing, the world number 1 managed the important moments perfectly to dispose of a Briton who didn't have the weapons to thwart him.

Although he will be the overwhelming favorite on Sunday, the Italian will have to do better than that, whoever he faces. Visibly injured in the left wrist, he was not entirely reassuring and will have to be wary of his opponent.

He'll be up against a player who's bound to have the crowd on his side, as he'll be facing an American: Taylor Fritz or Frances Tiafoe.
