Video - Sinner with wrist injury before US Open final?
Big scare for Jannik Sinner in his US Open semi-final win over Jack Draper (7-5, 7-6, 6-2). The world No.1 fell during a very intense point at 4-4 in the second set.
It was a fall that seemed almost insignificant at real speed, but one in which the Italian hurt his left wrist as he landed (see video below).
Sinner went to the physio at the end of the game and was able to resume play, apparently unhindered by the pain. Keep an eye on him, however, as the extent of the injury could become apparent after the match.
An injury which could handicap him as he plays in his second Grand Slam final on Sunday, after the one he won at the Australian Open earlier this season. He will meet the winner of the second semi-final between Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. Let's hope he'll be at 100% physically.
To be continued.
